We can all agree: There really is absolutely no individual job security anywhere now; there can only be market or business security - a company will drop any single member of staff whenever it meets the company's trade requirements. Security can now only exist in a quickly escalating marketplace, driven forward by a shortage of trained workers. It's this alone that creates the right background for market-security - a much more desirable situation.

Looking at the Information Technology (IT) sector, a key e-Skills study highlighted a more than 26 percent shortage in trained professionals. Accordingly, for every 4 jobs available throughout the computer industry, organisations can only locate certified professionals for three of the four. This glaring certainty clearly demonstrates the validity and need for more properly accredited IT professionals around the United Kingdom. Because the IT sector is growing at such a quick pace, it's unlikely there's any better sector worth considering for retraining.

Incorporating exam fees with the course fee then giving it 'Exam Guarantee' status is common for many companies. But let's examine why they really do it:

Patently it's not free - you're still paying for it - it's just been wrapped up in the price of the package. Passing first time is everyone's goal. Entering examinations one at a time and funding them as you go sees you much better placed to get through first time - you take it seriously and are aware of the costs involved.

Sit the exam somewhere local and find the best deal for you at the time. Huge profits are netted by a significant number of organisations that get money for exam fees in advance. For quite legitimate reasons, a number of students don't get to do their exams and so the company is quids-in. Surprising as it sounds, there are training companies that depend on students not taking their exams - as that's where a lot of their profit comes from. Also, many exam guarantees are worthless. The majority of organisations won't be prepared to pay for you to re-take until you've completely satisfied them that you're ready this time.

The cost of exams was about 112 pounds twelve months or so ago through UK VUE or Prometric centres. So why pay hundreds or thousands of pounds extra to have 'an Exam Guarantee', when it's obvious that the best guarantee is study, commitment and preparing with good quality mock and practice exams.

The area most overlooked by people considering a training program is the concept of 'training segmentation'. This basically means how the program is broken down into parts for delivery to you, which completely controls how you end up. Trainees may consider it sensible (when study may take one to three years to achieve full certification,) for your typical trainer to courier one module at a time, as you pass each element. Although: What if for some reason you don't get to the end of every section? What if you don't find their order of learning is ideal for you? Without any fault on your part, you mightn't complete everything fast enough and therefore not end up with all the modules.

To be in the best situation you would have all your study materials sent to you immediately; the complete package! Thus avoiding any future problems that could impede your ability to finish.
